I love apples...

Apples are a wonderful source of fiber,  vitamin c, and antioxidants.

I've  been consuming apples for over 50 years now and is my official go to snack to curb my appetite.

As a kid growing up,   I was raised in a migrant family so we were no strangers to picking crops.

In 1987,  we picked apples...different varieties that ranged from Empire,  Golden and Red Delicious,  Gala,  and Granny Smith(wonderful for apple pies/fritters/crumbles,etc).

Heck I was snacking on these while we picked them.  This was the time where became familiar with the apple crop in general and thus opted and chose this fruit as my official snack item foregoing nacho cheese tortilla chips and soda pops.

Consuming apples supports healthy digestion,  brain health and weight management.

They are also known to stabilizing blood sugar,  lowering cholesterol and even reducing hyper tension.

While apples are sold year round,  the freshest apples you will find at the grocery store will be between mid August to around mid November...this is typically the harvest season.

Depending on the variety,  apples can easily be packed In a back pack, or be eaten while walking,  or even sliced up and paired up with cheese
, grapes and veggies for a great snack,  as illustrated in the image I posted.

The next time you crave a snack,   enjoy an apple.
